THE FARM HOUSE

Closter, New Jersey

Project Description

The Farm House draws its conceptual foundation from the site’s origins as the former ALPFARM, reinterpreting the agricultural landscape into a contemporary architectural expression. The project is organized into three distinct massings, each articulated with natural materials to reflect the simplicity and honesty of traditional farm structures. At its core, an interior garden anchors the design, bringing light, air, and greenery deep into the building and establishing a constant dialogue between nature and living space. This modern reinterpretation of a historic farming typology seeks to merge past and present—creating a dwelling that is at once grounded in its heritage and responsive to contemporary expectations for openness, clarity, and environmental connection.
